The motto IN GOD WE TRUST was placed on United States coins largely because of the increased religious sentiment existing during the Civil War.

I point out that it does NOT say, “We Are A Christian Nation.”  NOR does it say “We Are a Muslim Nation.”  And I will add, that it does NOT say “We Are a Hindu Nation.”

And if you read the U.S. Constitution, it is clear that the Founders not only outlined a clear separation between  Church and State, but they certainly did NOT favor one religion over another.  I defy anyone to prove otherwise.

So what the hell is so-called “Justice” Scalia defending the cross for?  The cross is a Christian symbol.  Last I looked it was not a Muslim nor a Hindu symbol.

The cross should be torn down and replaced with an appropriate symbol.

The LDS church has ‘changed’ its stance on race.  I think Glenn Beck missed the memo. As a matter of fact, I feel strongly that Glenn Beck MUST be a neo-nazi.  I only WISH he would be true to himself, and shave his head.

Noticeable in the mob was a significant lack of diversity.  The mob, with very minor exception, was composed of caucasians.

The 9/12 Teabagger March event is SUPPOSED to represent the “Lower Taxes, Less Government, More Freedom” element in America.  That segment of America is quite a bit more diverse than the mob represented during the 9/12 Teabagger ‘March’.

Combine that fact with observations on the signage representative during the event, and you can reasonably come to the conclusion that the real problem here is that Barack Obama is black.  Add to that his intelligence and competence, and you can begin to see why he threatens that mob.  The REAL issue is race.

And this is what heartens me.  That backwards element of America, is not as large or as supportive as the FRF (Far Right Fringe) had hoped.  They have proven that they are indeed, a fringe.  Makes you wonder why they are given so much attention.

Until you consider that this is the group driving the Republican Party.  These are the voices defining Conservatism.

If there is such a thing, I used to be a moderate conservative republican.  I believed in the American spirit, free markets, small governments, and little or no government intervention in personal or business affairs (laissez-faire).  Additionally, I believe in separation of church and state, and in equality of the human species regardless of gender, race, age, or sexual orientation.

There would be no change until the unfortunate Presidency of George W. Bush.  I voted for him twice.  Truthfully, I did not feel he was a good fit during his first election campaign, but I thought that Dick Cheney would round him out.  The second time, I voted for him because I thought Kerry was not strong enough.  I did not believe the “swift boaters” attacks, but Kerry should have returned the fight strongly.

Although Bush and his administration made many mistakes, there were two that irreparably fractured my ideological resolve.  When George merged church with state, I began to cycle through the five stages of grief.  What had begun to die was my belief in both conservatism and the republican party.  ”How could a party, which espouses the Constitution, mix the business of government with religion?”

With a more critical eye, I began to see that the Republican Party is really a front for a kind of aristocracy.  The Republicans made it plainly obvious that they are only concerned for the wealthy.  I came to this conclusion after Bush and a Republican  Congress cut taxes for the wealthy, while my spouse and I continue to get hammered by the “Alternative Minimum Tax.”  They are for tax reform, but only if it benefits the top one percent of America.

Those were the two upsets that began my journey away from the Republican Party.

Fiscal responsibility.  The Republican Party is NOT fiscally responsible.  They need remedial home economics training to relearn how to balance a checkbook.  You cannot cut income and raise expenses, and expect a happy outcome.

Laissez-faire and free markets.  Every parent learns that if you do not give your children proper structure and boundaries they will run amok.  The great conservative experiment has failed, you cannot let private companies and individuals run free without rules.  They will selfishly run off with all the money, and crash the world’s economies.  It’s time to strengthen regulation and consequences, after decades of weakening it.  It is a careful balance.

Conservatism.  I would later read a great article, “What is conservatism and what is wrong with it?“.  Phil Agre had obviously given it a lot more thought than I.  Perhaps you will enjoy the article too.

I have not swung to the opposite side of the ideological spectrum, I have merely become unmoored.  I am no longer stuck in an ideological rut.

Many in America like to point to Islam as an example of a dangerous religion, that it breeds fanaticism.   I am not one of them.  I have seen through experience that fanatics come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and beliefs either political or religious.  Steve Anderson is a Fanatic Christian.

Apparently it is his heart and mind’s belief that it is APPROPRIATE to pray and preach for the death of a President.  Calling it a prayer is misleading at best.  If he wished to be truthful, Steve should have used the word ‘curse.’

It seems to me he is more ‘versed’ in the negative spiritual arts.  I’m sure his God is judging his message.

First she announces that the Republicans need a “Great White Hope.” Lynn then lies about her remark and gets BUSTED.  She did apologize for her remark, but you may not have read the entire apology which is a must read.

As in all displays of public stupidity, there are consequences.  But we won’t know for sure how Kansas feels until the next election.

And you may have observed that the agitated individuals mostly fit into a single group, Old White People.  That observation has been confirmed by the Pew Rearch Center.  A large percentage of white people 65 years and older, just don’t like Obama.

I will skip the nicety, it is safe to say that Jon Voight hates the President because he is black.  I think you will get that too, if you watch the video.  And if you still are not sure, then just google his name with the President’s and dig a little deeper.  Some might call it Obama Derangement Syndrome, I will call it racism.
